In 2007 the church joined six other churches in a commitment to the Refocusing Process, a visioning process that works first with the pastor, then table leaders, then church members to clarify and define God’s calling and mission for their personal life. Phase II of this process applied the same discernment process to envision God’s calling and mission for our congregation. The result was establishing three strategic initiatives to accomplish and outlining specific methods for achieving them. These initiatives were adopted by the Church Council: (1) do outdoor worship services quarterly at Blanton park to connect with our neighborhood; (2) expand our Grace Bag ministry for the homeless, which are carried in our cars and given to those homeless we meet during our daily activities; and (3) double our bus ministry pickups.
