Free Community Dinners (Stop Gap)
Purpose: To demonstrate the love of Christ by serving a meal at the Social Services Center.
Details: We purchase, prepare and serve a complete meal every other month at the Harry T. Moore Social Service Center on Deleon Avenue. The food is prepared on site at the Service Center. Our standard menu is shepherd’s pie, tossed salad, applesauce, rolls, lemonade, and dessert.
History: FUMC has been participating in this program for over 25 years. Many of the people who come to eat have been coming for several years and are very appreciative of the free hot meal they receive.
To Help: Volunteer to help prepare or serve the food.
