Ministry of Listening

"I was in prison and you came to visit me....and whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers (sisters) of mine, you did for me."  Matthew 25: 39-40

The "Ministry of Listening" is a weekly hour visit to female inmates at the Brevard County Supervision Center (County Jail). The ministry is in it's thirty ninth year and offers to female inmates a listening ear while sharing Jesus Christ with them for a new beginning. Our volunteers have a clearance from the Brevard Counties Sheriff's Department for the visits. They are allowed to bring the female inmates NIV Study Bibles which are purchased through the American Bible Society. They are allowed to bring inspected gifts for Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving. Donations to the ministry can be made through the church office and are much appreciated. Checks can be made out to First United Methodist Church with the designation to be used for the Ministry of Listening.

Jody Moxley is the Chair for for this visitation and the following ladies are visitors: Jo Charvet, Joan Page, Carolyn Sandusky, Judith Riddle, Ann Thompson and Martha Sullivan.
