Jubilee Club Tutoring
Jubilee Club Tutoring is an after school free tutoring program' designed to assist at risk students who need some extra assistance with homework, work and social skills, as well as individual encouragement and support. The program was initiated in 1998 with a grant from the Bishop's Initiative on Children and Poverty and has been funded consistently with grants from the Church and Society work area of the Methodist District Conference.
The tutoring program is held at the Harry Moore Social Services Center on Deleon Avenue each Tuesday from 3:00p.m. to 4:15 p.m. The children who attend ride their bikes, walk or are brought by car. Light refreshments are served before the actual tutoring session begins. The goal of this Outreach Ministry is to tutor and mentor children in a safe and caring environment to be successful, on grade level students.
